"A turtle's dream" contains some very unique recordings, which I have heard and studied more than a 100 times. What is so exceptional is the unity of the words, the interpretation and the music. I will especially like to mention "Down here below", which is a very unusual spiritual, "Should've been" and "Throw it away". I have studied this recordings so carefully, as I have written poetry to jazz compositions for a few performances myself. Try and listen to the music and the words. It is "jazz & poetry" as close, as these two can get near to each other. Elsewhere words and music are oftenmore…
