He hit the charts with the unashamedly commercial tracks 6,7,9 and 12, that still sound fresh today. He gained fame starring in the underground hitmovie The harder they come, contributing great classic tracks to its soundtrack (10,15,19). But then he tried to record soul and the results were solid but undistinguished tracks 8,16,20.
