Pressured into dropping the orchestral component of their sound and using something a bit more "modern" (this was before mid-price synths could duplicate exactly the sounds of orchestral instruments), Renaissance still managed to come up with the goods. There may not be any of the long, ambitious pieces we associate with this band on Azure D'or (again, pressure from the powers that be), but the attempt to come up with a compact hit after the pattern of Northern Lights has produced some real gems here that grow on you.
