Description
We know he's a Scientologist, but surely being a Star Trek fan doesn't come automatically with the package? In any event, bassist Holland here violates the rule of non-interference with other cultures in the best possible way by presenting us with a recording of Afro-Cuban influenced avant-bop or thereabouts. The music comes within a hair's breath of being fusion, at least insofar as there are up-tempo rhythms and wide-open, solo-over-me-please chordal washes from Steve Nelson's elegant vibraphone.
