This album came at an interesting time for Buddy and his band as they were playing sets at the famous Fillmore Clubs alongside bands such as Ten Years After and The Who, (which now seems almost impossible too imagine ! ). Buddy, who always wanted to reach younger audiences, did so by playing these clubs but also by playing pop tunes of the day in a big band style.This does not suit every big band fan, or indeed fans of Buddy's first few Pacific Jazz albums, but this record sold well on its original release charting both here and America, enough to prove to Buddy that this choice of material wasmore…
