Welcome to the music of Albert Hammond. This album and Free Electric Band represent the very under-rated singing/songwriting talents of a relatively unknown on the Transatlantic music pop scene. The title track is the outstanding item; but the original version of the Air That I Breathe is close behind. Coming to Hammond is a strange road. The Hollies' version of the Air That I breathe is all too familiar, and it's difficult to listen to Hammond with a fresh approach..but still a great song in a refreshingly original style. As for the other tracks? they stack up very well and although thesemore… two albums are good, they are not great. Still the great pity for a great artist such as Albert is he has great musicianship, plays well, produces the music and co-writes with Mike Hazelwood some exceptional songs, and yet never really became a household name. Maybe its because perhaps he lacked the celebrity charisma of others of his generation, just concentrating on the music, which is all that is really important. Buy this any other albums by him and you won't be disappointed: I promise.
