MF 2 puts the spotlight on what Maynard was famous for - energy. From the very first track, 'Give it One', any fan can appreciate his unmatched range, sound and control, even the casual listener will be tapping their foot.
Contrastingly, Maynard's 'Ballad Style' is underestimated by it's title. Not only is this a fine collection of some of the world's best ballads, but an amazingly feeling performance that, personally, I think stands out from any other. Maintaining his fantasticmore… high notes from MF2 , Maynard plays a lively rendition of 'Born Free' , then straight away as if a different musician, or rather magician, had recorded it - 'Girl Talk' is a delicate, gentle and perfect version of what Neal Hefti composed.

For the fan, collector or anybody curious about this great man's music - this is the best buy on the market. I assure you, you won't be disappointed!
