This is a collection of very early Clarence White flatpicked instrumentals, captured on a portable tape recorder in his bedroom. Whilst there are some flashes of brilliance here, the flat sound quality really does diminish the whole experience. If, like myself, you have been turned onto CW's playing through the Byrds and Kentucky Colonels, I would think twice before shelling out for this disc. Beautiful packaging, though, and as an archive of CW's playing, a worthy release.
