Description
This is probably the least (to me) satisfactory of all Galway recordings. Of course it is superbly played...but to what effect? Never has a Galway recording sounded so much like elevator music. The press release refers to this disc as "his long-awaited crossover album." Hmm. Long-awaited by whom, one might wonder.The "pop ensemble" then mentioned is not particularly elegant or impressive in any way, and their vocal intrusion on Track 11 is simply annoying. Mr. Galway may, of course, choose his own selections and/or allow them to be chosen for him. But this is definitely a step down for thismore…
