Description
Dag continue to refine their glossy, radio-ready modern-day funk on their third album, Apartment #635, adding elements of acid jazz and kitschy retro-swing in order to snare a younger audience. These flourishes are occasionally interesting, but the band is more effective when they simply concentrate on turning out good grooves, as on the single "Our Love Would Be Much Better (If I Gave a Damn About You)." Nevertheless, this is the kind of thing that works better in the bar than it does on record and Apartment #635 suffers because of it.
