This was the first Butthole Surfers album i got, its probably the most accesible, the first time i heard "birds" i was in love...everyone loves "Pepper" cause it rocks, "Cough Syrup" is one of those rare tracks, like Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" (which I cant spell), where you can remeber all the lyrics, yet they dont make sense and there's so many of them. "Cough syrup" also has a good aptmosphere, i imagine this hot little hick town gone bad.... "Jingle of a dog's collar" and "TV star" are nice trippy pop songs, u have to love them. "The Lord is a Monkey" has the same easy mainstream appeal asmore… "Pepper" with its big beats and "cool" chorus, i love it too. "L.A" is another aptmospheric song, i can totally imagine being stuck in smoggy LA traffic there. "Space" is actually a really good instrumental, it builds up and explodes beautifully....amazing. The album is great start to finish, a classic. Not quite the Butthole Surfers of old, but easier to get into, and still a great record.
