Like the film itself, I found this soundtrack album to be an unexpected gem Ð haunting and enchanting in equal measure. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of how evocative The Motorcycle Diaries was, but you could enjoy it even if you hadnÕt see film.I find I have to listen to it on headphones to get the maximum enjoyment from it Ð thereÕs a lot of depth and subtlety to the sound that you can miss otherwise. Although SantaolallaÕs guitar playing is beautiful, there is a bit too much of it and if I had to have a criticism of the album, it would only be that I would have liked a bit moremore…
