Description
The background of this film provides a fairly accurate insight into the oppressive, secrecy and fear of everyday life in the DDR. It reflects the power of the political hierarchy and the obsessive, and at times corrupt, lengths they went to to preserve their stranglehold on power.
However, this film is so much more than a political story. It's essence is a very personal journey to humanity. The dramatic and at times complex plot guiding you through the film is immense. The ending marries these various elements together in both a sublime and profound way. Compelling.
