Bob Marley - In the Beginning (1997) Retail CD
Description
This collection contains a excellent mix of stuff, from the killer instrumental tracks so much a feature of early reggae/ska, to the originals of songs generally only known by inferior cover versions ("Rivers of Babylon" a good example - the version here helpfully erases bad memories of Boney M). It was this compilation (that I'm now upgrading to CD) that helped set me off on a more in-depth look at ska and early reggae. Highly recommended for the uninitiated.
