My headline perhaps sums-up this album better than a thousand words. How can an album remain one's favourite for so long when other favourites come and go?Latin Quarter achieved a moderate hit with Radio Africa in the mid eighties, a haunting song that struck the heart in every way; the tune, the vocals, the lyrics, the production. Yet in the context of Modern Times it's simply a good track, not outstanding. There are so many other tracks on the album that are similarly brilliant.It would be bizzarre to try to attempt to describe a Rembrandt, so rather than try to describe Modern Times, I willmore… simply say BUY IT. You will not be disappointed, it will be an album that you cherish, a CD that becomes so much more than another in your collection.The original album was, and remains a masterpiece. This version keeps the old songs, still in the same order and adds a few more for good measure. Buy this CD, play it, treasure it and consider buying a second copy in case you lose the original. This album really is that good.
