It is a terrible tradgedy that this album was the last that Big Country recorded with the late Stuart Adamson. Sad because it seems that big country were back on track. During the nineties the popularity of the band declined even though some excellent albums were produced (The Buffalo Skinners springs to mind). This album was brave enough to move away from the standard tone of a Big Country album (swirlling guitars, echoing drums and E-bows galore and timbres and visions of panoramic highland landscapes), and move into the present while retaining its identity - it IS still a big country recordmore…
