Xentrix - Scourge (2002) Retail CD

added on August 16, 2008, at 18:54 by allcdcovers| As a big fan of their 2 early albums (Shattered Existance & For Who`s Advantage) I was looking forward to recieveing this CD.However, I was not impressed. Firstly, the Singer/Rythm Guitarist from the first two albums has left the band, and the replacement vocals are not powerfull & inspiring, and rather grating. Also the songs are not a patch on their earlier work, the layering of the guitars & the punchiness has been lost & the songs lack imagination as they plod on monotinously. Ok it`s not a bad album, but it`s by no means good either & no surprise that the band split for good after this work.In short i find it a boring, plodding peice where the band appear to be going through the motions.if you have Shattered/Advantage & a fan may I suggest `nightmare scenario` by Slammer from the same period as a much better Purchase or `Scars` by Soil for a more modern sound which I can not recommend highly enough. | |
