Default Carole King - Live at Carnegie Hall (1996) Retail CD

Music > Albums > Carole King - Live at Carnegie Hall (1996) Retail CD
added on March 3, 2008, at 09:45 by Sarge!

This enthralling CD of Carole King's Carnegie Hall Concert skilfully blends all the classics from her renowned Tapestry album with some very catchy new songs. As well as the songs from the Tapestry album there are seven new tracks of which Child Of Mine, Carry Your Load, and Song Of Long Ago are particularly impressive. However, the first time that I heard Child Of Mine it simply blew me away. The involving lyrics and strong rhythm of the track are a joy to listen to. The simple last line: 'Oh yes, sweet darling, I'm so glad you're a child of mine' gives an almost euphoric end to the track and makes it a real and lasting classic. The James Taylor and Carole King medley of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, Some Kind Of Wonderful and Up On The Roof is also a poignant reminder of the merits of doing a duet and ending the concert with (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman is also a fitting way to end such a powerful live concert. In short this CD would grace the shelves of any keen Carole King fan.
