So, I knew a new within Temptation album was being released... but I was never really into them. After hearing a very catchy 'What Have you Done' as the first single, I explored into their old albums, and loved tracks like 'Angels', 'Aquarius' and 'Ice Queen'. After hearing 'The heart of Everything', this is by far my favourite album. 1. The Howling - PERFECT hard hitting opener... a great start to the album. - 9/10 2. What Have You Done - A good choice for a first single, and very catchy, with some good lyrics - 8/10 3. Frozen - A slower sort-of ballad but with a lot of power. Love the sound of the chorus, and love the lyrics. Had this stuck in my head for a while - 9/10 4. Our Solemn Hour - A great intro to this; Love the use of the choir and Churchills voice in the background. Again, great lyrics - 9/10 5. The heart of Everything - Not one of my favourites, but I love the guitars and the chorus, particularly after the bridge. - 7/10 6. Hand of Sorrow - One of my favourites! I absolutely LOVE the lyrics to this. Very deep, and kind of tells a story. A great introduction too - 10/10 7. The Cross - A very good introduction, once again. Love the lyrics just before the chorus, and the unusual sound that this has. This stands out as the most experiment on the album to me - 9/10 8. Final Destination - Definately my favourite track of all on this album. The introduction is superb, and I love how the lyrics are based around fate, etc. Can most relate to this.. This song has a LOT of power - 10/10 9. All I Need - A great ballad, with some fantastic lyrics - particularly just before the chorus. - 9/10 10. The Truth Beneath The Rose - Longest song, but doesn't seem so long. Lovee the sound just after the bridge, and love the introduction too. - 8/10 11. Forgiven - Very moving ballad. Can seem slightly boring because it hasn't got as many elements to it, but the piano and violin are perfect. The lyrics and sound in the bridge give me chills every time - 9/10 I love everything about this album.. Particularly from track 6 onwards.. The tracks just get better as you continue to play the album. I love what theyve done with the choir, guitars etc. Fantastic album!!
