Default Alan Stivell - Back to Breizh (2000) Retail CD

Music > Albums > Alan Stivell - Back to Breizh (2000) Retail CD
added on July 26, 2007, at 14:10 by Albanach

Right from the opening notes this album arrests the attention and provides 45 minutes of high quality fare. The subject matter returns to familiar territory ie 'Back to Breizh' with polyglot lyrics, although naturally most in Breton. The music is powerful, tuneful, atmospheric, beautifully mixed and appeals to head and heart equally. The harp parts sing seductively or support Alan's magically spun vocal lines entwined in original arrangements. Fans of familiar Alan Stivell territory,eg Kan Ha Disker and evocative bombardes, biniou and pipes will not be disappointed. Includes new versions of Brian Boru (in French) and Suite Armonicaine (still delivered with biting irony) but an album for the here and now. A must have! Hors concours!
