There must be a million fans of the G-Funk era who have been waiting for this album for the past 12/13 years. And like me, you would have been even more excited the first time you heard the beautiful 'So Fly'. And so the time came, the album dropped, and i have to admit i came out of my first listening slightly disappointed. But week by week, as i listened more and more, the album grew and grew. How on my first listen i missed the fantastic 'Absolutely' i'll never know, let's just Nate Dogg hasn't killed a hook like this since 'The Next Episode'. Other highlights include the naughty but humourous 'My Dirty Ho' and 'Appreication'. The most impressive feature of the album is the way Snoop, Nate and Warren G can switch styles through the album. 'Another Summer' is a relaxed summer track, perfect for winding down at the end of a barbeque, but this is immediately followed by the furious head-nodding '213 Tha Gangsta Clicc'. Any fans of the G-Funk era will be very satisfied with this album. It's the closest thing we've come to since the golden sound of the summers of the early to mid 90's, but with a little 21st century twist.
