The New Guy (2002) Retail CD
Music > Soundtracks > The New Guy (2002) Retail CD

The best tracks have to be Im just a kid, outsider and so fresh so clean. Without the inclusion of the big bands/artists this soundtrack would be lacking in most areas. Im just a kid delivers clever lyrics on childhood solidarity in a very punk kind of way. Greenday are basically same old Greenday: Outsider stays firmly with Greendays powerful punk roots and is certainly a song to mosh to including a great bass riff. One plus point of the album is that it strtches its variety of music, theirs obvious punk from Simple Plan, a taste of R n B from Outkast and some nice little love melodies from Vertical Horizon and Nine days. Unfortuantely these songs are quite samey and seem there just to make up the numbers. The inclusion of popular bands like Greenday, Simple Plan and Wheatus rescue the album from complete averageness and it is really the punky songs in this album that are the best. I wouldn't buy this soundtrack if you were thinking it is punk all over, however if your music taste expands across various musical hrizons give it a listen. | |
