I am currently building my music library by ripping all my CDs to the computer in lossless format. As I do not have a scanner, I can only use a digital camera to take photos of the CD covers. The quality is not very good and the process is extremely cumbersome.
I searched the internet for a better solution and came upon this site which is really excellent. It has a reasonably good library of scans. But unfortunately, downloading the images is not very convenient. One has to make many mouse clicks to download just one image. The page also frequently asks for a "password" from a cryptic graphics which is not always easy to read. I suspect this is done to prevent robots or leeching. But isn't it done to the extent of not being user-friendly? Using this site in fact requires a lot of patience! I know this is a free site and I really thank you for it. But can you make it more user-friendly and allow more convenient downloading? Think of YouTube (very easy to upload, not much restriction) or Gmail (with their initial 1G mailbox!) etc. They are extremely generous to the users. Look how big they have become! I think you can make it big too. Many audiophiles like me are building music libraries for playback with computer. They need a site like yours to get the cover arts. So there's a huge market out there. If you can make the site more user friendly, I am sure it will become even more popular in a relatively short time. Let us download with less mouseclicks, please. Also, reduce the number of password challenges, please. By the way, you should invite more ads to generate more income (there are no audiophile related ads at present - I think you should try that direction). Again, thank you for this excellent site! Thank you for your feedback Linda.
There is a new version of the site in the works which should address many of the issues you mentioned. Adrian |
