I have to admit, I was worried that Chevelle's new album wouldn't be great, but I am very glad to say I was wrong. This album gets under your skin and pushes all the right buttons, from start to finish in an emotional journey you will want to take again and again. As expected, it's tight and polished, but that doesn't diminish the intensity and power. In a few songs there is a noticeable, though restrained, use of a synth, which is a slight departure for Chevelle, but it works brilliantly. Chevelle stand head and shoulders above their peers, their music is almost instantly accessible, but has real longevity. Stand out tracks for me are Saferwaters, Antisaint and Humanoid. Having said that though, every track on the album is good. Available April 9 2007 - buy it now!
