If you are a fan of the series or simply the kind of person that has an open mind (and ears) to musical variety - the Northern Exposure Soundtrack is an absolute must.From the simply sublime theme tune of the series, through the Cajun/French sounds of Jolie Louise and the last Medley track, you are taken on a wild ride of seemingly disparate musical styles - but this combination REALLY WORKS.I bought this CD when it was first released, because I am a huge fan of the series - little did I know that the CD would open so many musical doors for me. Since my first listening, I have been out and bought CDs by Etta James, Nat King Cole, Miriam Makeba (the most beautiful voice I have ever heard) and the Songs of the Auvergne, performed by Maria Von Stade.I cannot emphasise this enough BUY IT and buy into the topsy turvey, eclectic and often surreal world of Northern Exposure.
