Hello,
Every time I have tried to print a cover from the site, I get this "we have this cover but you can't see it" thing. I figured by joining the forum, that may be the trick, but no. Why I can't simply copy and paste a cover into my MS Word, I do not understand. There is no FAQ question dealing with that, or about how to resize on the site. It should be so easy to use. I simply need to copy, paste and resize to the exact specs of a CD booklet. There are so many forum posts pertaining to this. There shouldn't be. It should be easy Thx Dave |

Hi Dave (though you have me confused, Nav),
Please take a look at How to download covers, a short guide that Stochem posted. I cannot make up what exactly the problem is you are having with downloading covers. Can you not find where to click to download them, or do you not get what you expect when trying to download? Or are you having trouble printing them? Either way, you said you were trying to resize the image to the right size for printing (for example using MS Word) and facing some trouble. If so, you might want to have a look at the Printing & Scanning forum, there have been numerous people before you discussing what works best for them. G'day, ~ Saph |

When I find a cover, and click the download button, I see a large, page-size version of the cover, but that's it. I have never found a place to save it to something like My Documents. With other cover sites, I simply right-click Copy and then Paste in MS Word, where I resize it. When I click paste on one of the covers here, I get something that says "we have the cover you are looking for, but we cannot let you see it..." Very confusing.

After you click on the download button, right click on the full size image that appears in your browser's window and click on "save as" and then select where you want the cover to be saved to.

Thought so, but thank you for clarifying Stochem. I believe he is facing some difficulties in between the process of clicking the download button and getting it onto his computer?
davevt, I can't see why you would not be able to right click and "Save as..." the image if you see it page-sized, just like you would on another site. Please give us some extra information if you cannot do what Stochem suggests. ~ Saph |

I have that happen to me a couple of times and I think it was connected with the grading of the previous cover downloaded. If you don't get it right, like sometimes giving a cover a grading before its downloaded properly, then next time you press download you get this white CD cover with the message that you have it on site.

Hello everyone,
I am sorry there is no solution yet, but to find a solution we first have to understand the exact problem (and I have not yet been able to reproduce what some of you get). I'd like to ask a few questions to anyone that has the same problem (that is, trying to download an album cover but receiving a message along the lines "we have the cover you are looking for, you can't download it"). - Does it happen everytime you try to download a cover, or occasionally? - Are you using a recent browser? - Are you using any ad-blocking software, or other software that tightly manages anything that tries to interact with your computer (eg. antivirus software with built-in ad blocking)? - Do you have cookies enabled in your browser? Logical suggestions to temporarily solve the issues and gain more insight in what is causing them, would be to try a different (modern) browser or, if you have the luxury of having access to another computer, could you see if you are facing the same problem on that one. Looking forward to any information, ~ Saph Last edited by saphalon; 02-Nov-2009 at 12:37. Reason: Spelling ;) |

This can be caused when I go to a page to download a cover but do not download it right away. After 10 minutes has passed I get the above error image instead of a cover. I tested it several times on MOVIE covers. This seems to be what you are investigating though I am not certain. The minimum time IS or IS CLOSE TO 10 minutes as I tested using 1 minute intervals until I got the image. YMMV

Micromutt, thank you, that indeed is a way to make the system think you are not allowed to view the covers. It makes me think there is something funky with the cookies in the client browser or with the client system time.
To those with the problem: If you are sure you have cookies enabled and you are sure you are logged in, download a cover and still get the message, try refreshing once or twice (ctrl+F5, note holding the ctrl key is to refresh completely, otherwise you might still get the message from your browser cache). In general: The image is shown if the system fails to authorize your view. This may be because it is already processing a request (you recently viewed a cover, or whatever transaction went temporarily wrong), in which case it would just require a refresh to redo the authorization. It may also be that one is not allowed to see the image: each time you download a cover you get a link that works temporarily. It just works for you (your browser session), so if you would use that direct link later on, the system will fail to match the browser sessions. Even without logging in, having cookies disabled is one of the main reasons I can think of to cause problems like these. ~ Saph |
