Question Opinions Requested

Just scanned the box cover for the Alien Quadrilogy. The back of the cover had a sheet stuck on it with that tacky glue. The sheet has descriptions for the nine discs and technical information about the set. Underneath the sheet is a nice Alien graphic. Question is: Which to upload? Obviously since they used that easily removable tacky glue to attach the sheet, it is meant to come off. Should I upload the bare cover and add the sheet as an insert? Or upload the cover as it came out of the shrink wrap?

Here are reduced size samples. The first is with the sheet attached, the second is the bare cover.

RedWagnum,

Very interesting. I've never come across this type of cover when purchasing dvd movies....The 1st cover with the bar code is the one that you should upload as a retail cover as the 2nd one looks like a custom, even though it's not.

Really? I've got several. In fact, now that I think about it, The Ultimate Matrix Collection was like that too. The sheet covered the back and folded under the bottom. It was held in place by tape discs at the top and bottom. That's why I didn't take it off - didn't want to damage anything. If you look closely you can see the tape disc on the back.

I didn't think about it at the time but you are right, the second one does look like a custom without the bar code on it. I'll have to think about that in the future.

Thanks for the input Stochem. As always, you have been a big help!

I haven't come across any like that yet. I bought a 5 movie Bruce Lee box set a month ago and it just had the plastic wrap around it. I live in Canada and I've seen Canadian and American region 1 dvd movies that look different because they were released by different distributors and that may be the reason why.

I scanned and uploaded Bruce Lee's Box set which you'll only find here on allcdcovers...They are all titled as thinpaks.

Game of Death
Game of Death II
Fist Of Fury
Way of the Dragon
The Big Boss

btw I just approved your Alien box set and they were great. I also changed the titles, so that members know that it's a set for all 9 discs. Have a look and you'll see what I mean and give the system a day to update the title changes....

That could very well be. I have seen differences between many US vs. Canadian releases. Really chaps my butt when I download a R1 cover only to find that it is English/French rather than the English only version I am looking for.

I'll take a look at them when they post. Oddly, I've never really cared much for Bruce Lee flicks. But give me something with Jason Statham, Jet Li, or some of the older Chuck Norris stuff and I'm a happy camper. Jackie Chan isn't bad either.

I'll be looking for them! Thanks Stochem!

Speaking of Chuck Norris...some of those covers are hard to find. You wouldn't happen to have covers for those movies would you?

Good Guys Wear Black
An Eye For An Eye
The Hitman

No, sure don't. In fact the only Norris movie I have is Firewalker. I got it not for the action or Norris but for the comedy and Melody Anderson. I keep looking in the bargain bin for the older Norris flicks but, as you said, they are hard to come by. If I run across any of those covers I'll be sure to upload them!

I also look through the bargain bins and most of my old movies were bought that way and I will continue to buy them that way because most of them are under $10.

Thank you RedWagnum for checking.
