<font size="1">added on August 11, 2007, at 21:31 by frostyice</font><br /><br /><table><tr valign="top"><td>If you ask any gamer of a certain age to name their favourite coin-op game of the `80s you can pretty much guarantee that <I>OutRun</I> is going to get mentioned fairly early on. The definitive arcade racer, almost as famous for its superlative soundtrack as for its perfectly designed courses and easy handling, <I>OutRun</I> remains ones of the all-time classic video games.<p> Although there were various sub par spin-offs a true sequel has never appeared until now, and indeed looked like it might never appear at all as fashions moved on and realism seemed to become almost more important the fun when it came to driving games. That has simply served to make <I>OutRun 2</I> and its uncomplicated driving style, full of powerslides and unlikely road conditions, all the more welcome.<p> The coin-op has been out for a year or so now and technically little concrete information is know about the console version, however since the technology behind the coin-op was based on Xbox hardware a perfect conversion is practically guaranteed. What's also promised though is a series of features unique to the home version, including a brand new mission mode with over 100 missions, a choice of eight Ferrari cars, a time attack and "heart attack" mode and full Xbox Live play for up to eight people at a time.
