added on April 30, 2007, at 17:43 by troetelbeertje

I have the first CD. In fact, I had to buy it again because I listened to the first one so many times, it accumulated too much wear and wore out. Although the OST to Braveheart is one of the finest film scores out there and THE finest James Horner score, it did noticeably omit some tracks. For example, the cue when William Wallace arrives at his childhood home after being away for a very long time AND when Robert the Bruce notices his father peering over him and another man early on in the film. So when I saw More Music From Braveheart, I was estactic. When I listened to the whole album, I was very disappointed. When they don't include tracks complete with voice-overs (I can record parts of the film myself and duplicate this dubious and as-of-recently overused technique), they include tracks that were on the first album! They also add fluff by including bagpipe music (I love bagpipes, therefore I buy bagpipe ALBUMS) just to make the album at first glance worthy of purchase. All in all, it's the most shallow attempt at money milking I have ever seen, and I purchase Star Wars soundtracks if that gives you any reference. Why they don't just release a complete score with the complete soundtrack absolutely escapes me. I would buy it in a second just as long as it contains every piece of music from the great film.

back
1181 x 929 px

front
953 x 953 px
