Is there a maximum file size for uploading covers?

When I scan DVD covers for my own archival purposes I do it at 800dpi and store them in tif format. But for uploading here I have been reducing them to the required sizes (300dpi 3240x2175 cover and 1500x1500 disc) and converting them to jpg. Because I don't like compression artefacts in jpg files I have been storing them as 100% quality. This is all being done using GIMP.

This has resulted in a cover of 7516KB and a disc of 2057KB. When uploading I get a message that they are too large; hence my question on if there is a maximum file size.

Not required size, but preferred size in the general internet dvd movie covers community...We accept smaller and larger movie cover dimensions than 3240x2175, as long as it's the correct covers, cropped properly and the quality is good...
