Status Monitor on Epson printer

Ive got an Epson R285 printer operating on Windows 7 but the ink status monitor has gone walkabouts. Has anybody got any idea how to fix this. Will be a right pain when one of the cartidges is empty, I'll not know which one.

Have you got the latest drivers for you printer? Did you upgrade from XP or Vista? Do you use genuine ink?

I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7and downloaded a new driver. The strange thing is the printer worked fine for a few days before the monitor disappeared. I use compatable inks. Im not too sure that the driver is the exact one needed. Thanks for your response.

if everything fails put the installation disc in and reinstall, you might be able to install just the bit you want
