Hi there,

Just a quick question, does anyone know of a easy to use software to edit dvd disc scans, I notice on most uploads of dvd discs there is a band around the edge of the dvd disc (silver part) which causes it to have varied colour, i am looking to edit out this if possible with software.

Any suggestions on software for this, thanks advance ;-)

I dont think there is anyway of removing the edge.
I might be wrong but all the uploads I have seen have all got that edge.
So when I download it and size it up for my lables I add a bit more size to it so when I put it onto my disc the silver edge comes over the size of my disc and I just cut it off.

Hi

What I do is crop the scan to the edge of the picture inside the silver ring. Make sure the crop is square, same amount of pixels on sides as on top and bottom. Then resize to 1500 X 1500 300 dpi. This will remove the silver ring when printed.

I use Arc Soft Photo Impressions 5 to do this. Then I save it as a jpg file, then use Photo Shop to resize the file to 4.75 X 4.75 and it works everytime. Been doing this for 5 or 6 years and never a problem.
